1. Dua for Guidance (Surah Al-Fatiha)

Arabic:

اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

English Translation: “Guide us to the straight path.”

English Translation: “Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.”

English Translation: “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrong doers.”

Benefits: The Prophet ﷺ said: “The dua of my brother Yunus — no Muslim recites it in any distress except that Allah will relieve him of it.” (Tirmidhi, Authenticated). This is one of the most powerful duas for times of hardship and depression.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

English Translation: “Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

English Translation: “Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”

English Translation: “My Lord, expand for me my breast, ease for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech.”

أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

English Translation: “Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

English Translation: “Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us a leader for the righteous.”

English Translation: “Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is a permanent affliction.”

English Translation: “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into the ranks of Your righteous servants.”
